WE ARE BACK!!!! After a year away we are now back up and running - we have some fantastic new, enthusiastic committee members on board, but we are still always on the look out for willing volunteers, so get in touch if you want to get involved!

We hope that 2012 will really cement the club firmly back in the local equestrian community. We have some fantastic new venues to utilise this year, as well as everyone’s favourite - Potters Tye Farm - which will soon be hosting monthly dressage competitions once again. There are monthly training nights planned, for both dressage and showjumping, as well as occasional clinics from specialist instructors.

As ever, we will also be promoting the social side of the club, with talks and day trips, as well as the chance to try other activities such as dog agility and bee keeping.

To thank our loyal members who showed us so much support in our first year, we are offering FREE MEMBERSHIP to anyone wishing to renew their membership in 2012. New members will have to pay a very small joining fee. Membership grants you reduced entry fees at shows, as well as special rates for clinics and training sessions. We are also in negotiations with local businesses to get even more discounts for our members on production of their membership cards.

POINTS MEAN PRIZES

We will be running a points system this year - every member will be issued with a card at the beginning of the year, and can get this signed by any committee member at the shows and clinics which you attend or help at. There are points available at all SDRC events, for competitors and helpers alike.

Social Trips

We aim this year to get trips organised to the local Point to Point meet, racing at Newmarket, trips to Burghley and HOYS. We welcome any member’s suggestions for further excursions, just get in touch!

Help for Heroes

In October 2012 our chairman, Zoe King, will be embarking on a trek across Jordan to raise money for Help for Heroes. This is a challenging feat at best, but Zoe is still recovering from breaking both her legs in a cross country fall. Go to the News page for more information and how to go about sponsoring her.
